Microphlebectomy

Also referred to as Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Microphlebectomy is a safe and effective in-office, minimally-invasive, surgical procedure used to treat varicose veins.

After using a special marker to note the bulging varicosities, the doctor removes the superficial varicose veins under local anesthetic using special instruments. After the phlebectomy procedure, and once the leg is wrapped with sterile dressing and a medical compression stocking, patients are able to walk immediately.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy is recommended for the treatment of larger varicose veins – which may not close completely with Sclerotherapy. The phlebectomy procedure is often used in conjunction with endovenous thermal ablation or sclerotherapy, resulting in more efficient treatment.
